Our Programs

Building Skills. Building Character. Building Futures.

At Jump Start Builders (JSB), we believe that when children are given the tools to explore, build, and lead—anything is possible. Our programs are designed to introduce youth to the world of construction through hands-on experiences, while also laying the foundation for strong character, confidence, and career readiness.

At Jump Start Builders, our mission is built on five core pillars that shape every aspect of our programming. We start with Technical Skill Development, giving youth hands-on experience with tools, materials, and construction concepts in a safe, engaging environment. We pair that with Character and Leadership, instilling values like responsibility, perseverance, and teamwork to help students grow into strong, purpose-driven individuals. Through Career Pathways and Workforce Readiness, we introduce students early to the many opportunities in the skilled trades, offering mentorship and real-world exposure. Our commitment to Community and Industry Engagement ensures that students are connected to supportive networks and local professionals who believe in their potential. Finally, through Innovative Learning Spaces, including our upcoming Construction Learning Lab, we create immersive environments where kids can explore what happens behind the walls—blending creativity, STEM, and career exploration in powerful, hands-on ways. Together, these pillars help us build more than structures—we build futures.

Whether they’re holding a hammer for the first time or learning how buildings come together behind the walls, our students are immersed in meaningful learning that prepares them for success in school, work, and life.

Early Builders Program (Ages 4–7)

Where curiosity meets creativity.
Our youngest participants explore basic building concepts through engaging, hands-on projects that introduce math in construction, tools, teamwork, and the joy of construction. This program builds fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and introduces kids to the core values of safety, responsibility, and collaboration.

Junior Trades Program (Ages 8–12)

Igniting interest in real-world trades.
Participants dive deeper into trade exploration, learning how buildings are framed, wired, and finished. Through project-based learning, students explore various construction trades in a safe learning environment.

Teen Builder Academy (Ages 13–17)

Preparing tomorrow’s workforce today.
Focused on pre-apprenticeship training, this program combines technical instruction with workforce readiness and life skills. Students learn job site protocols, tool safety, and receive mentorship from real trades professionals. Participants graduate with a starter tool kit, resume support, and job shadowing opportunities.

Construction Learning Lab (Coming Soon)

A space where dreams take shape.
We are currently accepting community spaces developed in rehabilitated spaces, where students experience what goes on behind the walls—from framing to finish. This immersive environment brings lessons to life and provides a safe, inspiring place for learning.

Character & Career Pathways Program

Building the person, not just the profession.

3. Career Pathways & Workforce Readiness

“Creating clear paths to economic mobility.”
Introducing children to real career options early through trade exposure, mentorship, job shadowing, and readiness skills (communication, time management, etc.).

4. Community & Industry Engagement

“Growing together, stronger.”
Strong partnerships with families, schools, community organizations, and industry leaders to ensure real-world alignment and local impact.

5. Innovation & Learning Spaces
